Dr. Elder was a summa cum laude and a graduate of Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy and licensed as a registered pharmacist. He also earned a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry NJ - New Jersey Medical School, in 1988, where he gained membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor community.
Dr. Elder completed an internal internship at St. Hospital. Luke, New York, NY, and dermatology residency at MCP University Hahnemann, served as resident chiefs during his final year. He has also completed additional training in the use of lasers for skin resurfacing, as well as tattoos, age spots, leg veins and hair removal. Elder is an assistant clinical professor at the Department of Dermatology at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Elder has been named the Top Magazine Doctor of SJ and Top Doctor of South Jersey Magazine consistently from 2004 to this year.
